Options available if an AOL account owner passes away

We know that dealing with the loss of a loved one is very difficult. AOL has processes in place to request the closure of the deceased user's account, to request the suspension of billing and premium services, and in certain circumstances to request content of the account.

We cannot provide passwords or other login details. In order to protect the privacy and security of the deceased user's account, any decision regarding a request will be made only after a careful review.

Note: This help page applies to U.S. accounts only. Requests submitted for non-U.S. accounts will not be accepted and will not receive a response.
