McAfee Multi Access: Troubleshooting

Reset your McAfee password

You need a McAfee username and password in order to download McAfee Multi Access. In order to update your McAfee password please follow the instructions in our password reset article.

Trouble finding the McAfee Multi Access download/installation file

If you're trying to download and install McAfee, but are having trouble locating the downloaded installation file, here's where to look:

  • Google Chrome: Downloaded files can be found in the bottom of the browser
  • Internet Explorer: Downloaded files can be found in the bottom of the browser
  • Firefox: Downloaded files will be saved to your Downloads folder. Open your Downloads folder by clicking the down arrow in the top navigation.
  • Safari: Downloaded files will be saved to your Downloads folder.

Check your computer Date and Time

Check that your computer has the correct date & time. If it's wrong according to your local date and time, change it to the correct date and time.

McAfee works according to the date and time of the system to which it is installed. The McAfee update server will attempt to deliver regular updates to the product based on the local date and time on the computer, so first check that your computer's system date and time are correct.

Check your network connection

Basic network connectivity is mandatory for using McAfee to get regular security updates. The better your network connection is, the easier it will be to download and install McAfee. You can check the upload /download speed of the network from the web site: http://www.speedtest.net/.
